Schalk van der Merwe, one of the slickest bass-slapping cats this country has to offer, came by to jol. Quietly humming the notes to himself, he set a new tone for the neo-Tamboetieboom track, Mangemaak.
Frieda van den Heever, (and more recently Kruger) followed Schalk's gentle doo-doo-doo-doo with some pliekie-plonkie utterances of the piano, as well as heartfelt vocals. These talented individuals inspired a Fred den Hartog signature guitar tokkel-tokkel, to guide the song into new territories of awesomeness. We cant wait for you to hear it.
Towards the end of the day, Pierre stamped his authority on a nine-and-a-half-pound baby Taylor, adding a most valuable two cents to the mix. "Session muzo!", Hunter yelled to a newly energized pipe-man who just completed his guitar contribution with valour.
A watchful arty eye was kept on us by well travelled camera extraordinaire, Rowan Pybus, who is documenting our studio activity for our upcoming Red Bull Soundclash with Gazelle. Gazelle is a douche canoe by the way. Rowan recently won a Loerie but only found out today. He didn't even flinch. This man is fierce.
